More about the author.
Hi, I'm Samuel!
Here there is more about my experience in (and outside) mathematics.
My teaching experience includes but is not limited to:
- Superior Algebra II (2018-2) with Dr. Larrion. [DL]
- Superior Algebra I and II (2020-3, 2021-1, 2021-2) with Dr. Sanchez and Mstr. Haro. [DL]
- Mathematical Analysis II (2022-2) with Dr. Nuñez. [DL]
- Precalculus and Calculus for social sciences & Precalculus and Trigonometry at University of Oklahoma [INSTRUCTOR].
- Calculus II (Honors) (SP 2026). [DL]
(If the years are not listed is because I’ve probably taught them too many times to remember the semester in which I taught them, you are welcome to check my CV!)
I was the organizer of the Student Topology Seminar at OU from FA24 to SP25, I was co-organizer of the same seminar from SP24 and FA25.
Mentoring experience:
- Algebraic Topology preliminaries (2025-2): A semester program in which we went through the groundwork needed for a proper algebraic topology course from a categorical framework. Many constructions in the theory of spaces and symmetries share similar properties which can be captured in the language of category theory, which is the basis of more advanced algebraic topology.
I’m mainly interested in mentoring in topics related to algebraic topology, abstract algebra and topology but I am not closed to other subjects!
Outside of proper mathematics I enjoy most physical activities-sports, I’m an avid climber and member of the climbing club of OU ever since I enrolled though I prefer bouldering.
Recently I started enjoying salsa dancing, and in fact, for the FA26, I’m the vice president of the Latin dance club. Another fun hobby (related to salsa dancing, but not really) I acquired through my time with my friends in Mexico City is Pump it Up playing (AKA. Dancing machines at arcades or “DDRs”). Other [non-dancing] arts I enjoy include piano playing, drawing and even jewelry making, I worked in a jewelry workshop for a year.
Slightly disconnected to everything before, ever since 2014, I started enjoying bird watching, though for many years I’ve stopped waking up to go bird watching and do it passively, by taking my camera.
